FAQ System requirements

1. With which operating systems is Protectorion compatible?

It is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit), Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) and Windows 8 (32 and 64 bit).

2. What hardware is needed?

At least: 1 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM
Recommended: 2 GHz processor or higher, 2 GB RAM or more

3. What software is needed?

Protectorion operates on all current installations of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 without additional software.
For earlier versions of Windows XP SP1 and SP2 it might be necessary to download and install Service Pack 3, and afterwards download and install the free .NET-Framework 4.0 from Microsoft.

4. 4. Is necessary to have administrator rights?

No, neither for the installation nor the use of Protectorion.

5. Are parts of the hard disk formatted or additional drives integrated?

No, Protectorion encrypts the data and not the hard disk, on which the safe is created.

6. Does Protectorion support Intel’s new technology called AES-NI?

Yes, Protectorion supports the new AES-NI instruction set. This technology enables newer Intel processors to encrypt data up to four times faster than before.
